Inevitably, everyone looks to Paris always for fashion inspiration. Just like me, but I find it hard to admit that, and that I almost never feel like I get it just right. But then again I am an emotional dresser. One day full leather and suede, another eyelet whites to the ground with a mountain hat. It is more about catching a moment when you travel though. And see what you gain from that.. See what I mean? (Below).
RE Photo Inspo of the week!
Image
Landed and settled back in New York for fashion week we let ourselves look for
different influences this time around. I have always been a great fan of Nick Knight and his art. Recently he released a photo selection with a variety of designers participating in a
shoot for V magazine.
While we work on our reports I wanted to share some of my favourite shots from the shoot here in at Milk studios in LA.
Best of Couture Week.
Image
After traveling most of June and July, I finally found some time to express myself after so many influences during the early summer months. To be completely honest I think the couture weeks are my favorite source of fashion inspiration. The more over the top the better. And ever since the discussion on weather trends were actually still relevant anymore, I seek to the extravagant even more!
I noticed that angles were in every department. At Viktor&Rolf in broken frames as sleeves, crossed and ripped out face paintings at Margiela and pipe smoking models at Jean Paul Gaultier.
But first and foremost —> My go to look on European evenings.
Block Party – Fall 15′ Influences
Image
I don’t think a “trend” could be any clearer for Fall 2015. Color blocking has never been so prominent in the fall collections this time around and the combinations are very on point!
The 60’s has taken a stronger seat in in the house now since all that 70’s we have seen all over spring. But this time it is very colorful! Not just the typical “fall jewel tones” that we usually see for the holiday seasons but actual candy rainbow blocks on sophisticated silhouettes.
I Personally tend to avoid this block party (not an actual one 😉 because it can go so wrong if you don’t get it right! However now that almost every designer will be launching this trend this fall it should be impossible to fail at it.
Furthermore, here are some of our favorites so far!
Look of the day – “Denim & Culottes”
Image
As I have mentioned here before, I truly love both denim and culottes separately.
More often now that the weather is a bit unstable in LA I bring a denim shirt with me everywhere I go. I have about 5 now.
My favourite at the moment is a distressed oversized shirt i got from paige. It runs really big but doesn’t loose structure for anything!
I felt that I needed to make this denim shirt look a bit more sophisticated in this grab-and-go look of the day, hence why I paired it with my black silk Celine culottes and snakeskin Loubutins.
I usually never wear Loubutins as I think there are so many other great shoe brands out there right now. But for this occasion I really felt like clashing elegant with super casual.
Another look that I sometimes go for is the sexy casual denim outfit. It usually looks somewhat like this;
Knowing that I am also a great fan of Acne Studios, I am in love with these low bamboo-heels I found on my trip to Sweden earlier this year. They are super comfortable and looks great with my essential pieces.
I dont like to put too much effort into dressing unless I am going to an opening or a party or something. Effortless is key. But I have my moments where I like to dress like I was hosting the Oscars! Im off to a meeting now! See you this weekend 🙂
Celine + ripped denim = Client!
