AND then Thanksgiving was over, and December officially here. What a victory! We’re kicking off this gorgeous winter month with some gift inspiration based on our favourite colours of fall/winter 2014 that will still be around for spring/summer 2015 and therefore qualifying as as a great investment worth reloading. First out, the classic stunner COBALT BLUE. A color that never fails or fades, works in any season and pairs sensationally well with cream white, saturated black or any grey on the scale. Haven’t yet decided what to wear for the christmas party? Or for the family Christmas Eve dinner? Pimp your black velvet dress with a pair of cobalt blue earrings or your black satin culottes with a cobalt blue v-neck cashmere sweater. You’ll be the belle of the ball no doubt. RE x

The reason why I chose grey and cream for this weeks outfit inspiration is mainly because of how great these shades go together. Nudes combined with light shades (the grey scale from white to black) go very well together without the contrast from black or colours, and therefore it is easy to put something together! I like to combine different rich materials such as Mohair and cashmere or wool and alpaca together for an organic look and feel. Layer these fibres with a cotton t-shirt and/or denim and throw in some leather details for complete the look. Stay tuned for my own version of this look!

It is now officially that time of year to bring out the never-going-out-of-style plaid scarf, cape, shirt or whatever you are storing in the back of your closets. I have about 11 different plaid shirts and scarfs laying around at home, waiting to be adorned when the cold finally hits our city. This year, the plaid shirt has been on pretty much every celebrity and bloggers hips tied low to channel that careless boho look on jeans and leggings all over town. However, there are more ways to wear it! My safest bet in time for the holidays will be a skin tight plaid pencil skirt with a solid black or navy turtle neck. Though for just a super cool northern English/Scottish look I’d keep it short and sweet with a mini in two colours with a white t-shirt or a big nude knit.

Time is moving quickly towards the end of the year, and this week we suddenly realised it was almost the end of November! This means we’re not that far away from spring at all. What a relief! Browsing through the Spring/Summer 2015 shows from back in July I came across some great trends that we can jump on already! How about the gorgeous cobalt blue dress with jewel like details? In the street version I took a blue dress (something many more of us will have in our closets) and spiced it up with a silver necklace and belt. Then chose a red lace-up shoe to get that other saturated color in there with a cute lace sock! Actually really fitting for fall and winter weather. In the second look, you’ll get the vibe from any colorful satin pants you can get your hands on really. Paired with your favourite black long sleeve and your favourite boyfriend blazer and you have a winner. If you live in a colder climate, simply switch out the Birkens for a classic Adidas Stan sneaker. The last look was a bit tricker. But I believe you can get the look with a maxi skirt or dress, preferably with a pattern if possible. Details that make the look will be layers, flowy light materials and leather or suede combined with feathers and fringe such as in this jacket and over knee boot that I love. Bottom line. We’re about to witness even more of the fairytale theme, the colors go even intenser and the looks get even more native and natural. Its two sides of the extreme.
