Best of Couture Week.

Image

After traveling most of June and July, I finally found some time to express myself after so many influences during the early summer months. To be completely honest I think the couture weeks are my favorite source of fashion inspiration. The more over the top the better. And ever since the discussion on weather trends were actually still relevant anymore, I seek to the extravagant even more!
I noticed that angles were in every department. At Viktor&Rolf in broken frames as sleeves, crossed and ripped out face paintings at Margiela and pipe smoking models at Jean Paul Gaultier.

But first and foremost —> My go to look on European evenings.

Look of the day – minimal 70’s

Image

As we all know now, the 70’s influence is officially everywhere and you couldn’t avoid it if you tried. However, it is not quite the average 70’s dressing that is all over the runways, its a fresh and updated version with a minimal approach this season, so I wanted to channel a daily look which still touches on the super trend but in a more simple way.
I found this yellow cashmere jumper just a few days before we took off to New York in a consignment shop called “Ampersand” near larchmont in LA.
I know it is a little bit to hot in LA right now to wear 100% cashmere but I just fell in love with the color and the fact that Its slightly cropped. It works really well with a high waisted trouser and a pump for everyday office or like my days running around to meetings around town 😉

Inspo of the week – NYC

Image

After a long time on traveling foot, it is finally time to go through all the material we assembled during our time away!
Our time during NYFW was super hectic and inspirational and we wanted to channel our favourite looks in our own way within the short of space of time we had.
Living on the east coast during this time made me realize how much I layered and how many styles I was mixing! Rick Owens sweatpants went with Stan Smiths and a huge tent-sized wool coat. Cashmere sweaters on top of other cashmere sweaters paired with ponchos and suede trousers, and these were our “safe” options! Obviously the cold weather conditions had a great impact on our outfit choices but I have to say that I really miss the ways of dressing already!Screen Shot 2015-03-06 at 23.18.43

NYFW –> L.A. RECAP!

Image

First and foremost, now that we are back in LA and we and going through all of our fashion week coverage we had to take some time to reflect over what we saw and establish some of the trends for Fall 2015.
We have made our own interpretation through our own outfits where we are channeling a few different looks based on what we found in the best of the best vintage that New York had to offer along with a few contemporary brands and some high-end ones, which you will see later on this week.
As you might know now, re-inventing is our forte and this trip also brought an amazing amount of inspiration to us as and knowledge about the growing consignment market on the east coast.
But first let’s start with our favourites from the runways, and what our fellow blogger friends wore in the sunny but freezing New York!

INSPIRATIONAL SPRING TRENDS SS15

Image

We have just entered the new year and we are finally starting to see a new vision for spring  2015. There will always be a few obvious themes for the spring season such as pastels florals and most likely flowy fabrics and whites, but this time we would like to focus on those trends that are more likely to become hot further ahead in time (maybe even SS16).
I have always been a fan of a futuristic and very innovative look and for this spring we are  seeing a very interesting iridescent and transperant element on the runway, in the accessory department and in jewelry.
The thought of wearing a plastic coat or a corset for a night out might not sound so appealing, although I believe that this trend will become a great outlet for us “taste makers” to express ourselves and have fun with eccentric fashion!
