This weeks style inspiration is Brazilian long time, super model Ana Beatriz Barros who at the age of 32 has grazed more than 200 magazine covers in her career. Her style is edgy and wearable, often with a twist of leather. Anna know’s how to wear the latest colours and bring life to vintage pieces that keep coming back.

In the picture below, wearing oxblood leather trousers with one of this seasons most wearable colours from the mens collections – ink blue – gives that extra edge we just mentioned. A pair of good quality leather trousers is also something we would like to give a little extra nudge to as a serious staple in the Reload Evolve closet. Unlike any other pant staple they really elevate a simple knit or shirt, and with the switch of a flat shoe to a heel move you straight form office to evening. That and a pair of sunnies on a Sunday or a statement necklace for a Friday after work is Reload Evolve forever. RE x

We are now on the third out of Four series of color charts for spring/summer 2015 and  you can start to see where darker shades are starting to go.
The three most dominant colours are the teal blue’s in this chart but they are all in different “cast” from each other. The casts of the colours are divided into the major three mixing colours: yellow, red, blue and grey. It indicates that if a blue is “yellow casted” it will have more green character and fall under the “teal” family of blues, and so will the grey casted if they are light enough to change color without turning to dark and then fall under “saturated” hues.
The grey pantone plays a big part as a “blue” casted grey and a “shade” (a no-colour) in layering pieces and in a lot of stripes. But since grey is a pretty “safe” shade it will be seen mostly in solids.
The red’s and brown’s in this family are the “warm” colours of the chart and they are both yellow casted. These will become essential for this season in a lot of embellishments and embroideries and will most definitely make great prints. We have already seen some amazing pieces on the runways to inspire us for our spring vacations, events and weddings for the summer months!
Enjoy our third direction for spring!

The earthy rusty tones in this chart are emphasised in fabrics like plush velvets, silk, chiffon  and linens for this season. There are several shades of rusty and plum reds and some are presented in iridescent fabrics, however I firmly believe we will see this combination of reds in dramatic prints and layers this season.

Welcome to the second part of the mini-series of our color chart!
This selection is a continuation of the previous chart we made with dreamy pastels and foggy shades with some important accent hues.
The lilac’s and baby blue’s will likely been seen with the yellows and golds thus emphasis is mainly on the 70’s look this season. The grey-casted mint green has been seen both in print and solids in this seasons resort collections and will have a great impact on the summer and transition months as well.
Another important element in this chart, is the gold hues we will likely be seeing a lot of this spring. You could already see tendencies of gold in some resort collections and previous fall couture pieces in shimmery platinums and lame’ threads to inspire the next coming collection.
We are looking forward to seeing how this trend will transpire into the streets of LA when we hit the warmer months.

For this seasons forecast we have decided to divide the report into a six step mini series of color forecasts to get the perfect portion at a time!
The first segment is called “Foggy Skies” because it tells you what elements that has inspired us, and how light has been of major importance when discovering colour charts for SS15. Our selection contains of 6 hues: powder ivory, blush winter, lemon tart, smog, shabby rose and sundust.

I like to start with the basics when building palettes in nudes, shades or whites, only so that you can set your ground work before you add all the main brights and accents.
It is important to keep in mind that this is just a chart of predicted colours, and that they are created to guide you and your ideas in the design process. Not to set boundaries or to limit your creative vision, so remember to have fun with it and don’t set any limits to your creations.

After a few days of traveling in search of inspiration for the new forecast season, we have returned and I am channeling my inner boho chic side here with a print against a solid grey.
Through our travels we have uncovered some magnificent prints and color combinations and we couldn’t be more excited about it!

Furthermore back in the present, a very “futuristic space” movement is rising upon us with iridescent fabrics, plastic and acrylic formations in accessories and trainer collaborations everywhere! As we touched on in the previous post, this is just the beginning of the season, so stay tuned for more current updates right here.
Like in every forecast, these predictions tend to (reload) evolve and change slightly as the season move forward. The starwars looking trainers might take a turn into rubber loafers or the shiny jackets might turn into solid raincoats instead. However this is all a part of the job so we are indescribably excited to start the new season off with discovering the future!

In the meantime, here is my “Quick Look” of the week.
